Ideal Tire & Repair Company

Ideal tire shop would’ve been located at the upper-left corner of the block 18, the south-west corner of Louisiana and Franklin.

Today, there’s an opening in the street where this tire shop once stood. If you look down into the opening, you’ll see the bayou and Hike & Bike trail.

Actually, the entire Louisiana / Franklin intersection looks very, very different today than it did prior to 1950. It’s one of my favorite areas to explore due to the history that can still be seen underneath the modern day intersection.
